Levels
Below is a list of planned levels for Project Mettrix. These levels and their content are subject to change at any given time throughout development.

Shining Island Zone
The Tornado has been shot down from the sky, sending Sonic and Tails crashing down onto the seaside of a small island. Filled with tropical flowers and less then hospitable wildlife, they must progress through the grassy hilltops and beware of the new dangers that await them.

Aqualung Zone
Sonic and Tails have been washed away into an abandoned water purification plant. The dangerous machinery and confined areas make underwater exploration even more difficult then ever before.  Use the speed boosters on the catwalks to escape the dangers just in time!

Nightlight Heights Zone
Escaping the wet confines of the Aqualung, Sonic and Tails find themselves on mountain tops while continuing their chase of Dr. Eggman.  The dizzying heights of the range will offer challenges for our fast-footed hedgehog.

Neo Skychase Zone
Dr. Eggman has escaped once again! This time he's taken to the skies, headed for Angel Island. Thankfully, Sonic is able to use a spare Eggmobile to give chase.  Avoid dangerous flying obstacles and blast any badnik that gets in your way with the Eggmobiles destructive laser cannon.

Zoom Tubes Zone
Deep within Angel Island, Dr Eggman discovers the Zoom Tubes, a complex network of chutes that lead from one place to another below Angel Island.  Now Eggman is using them to confuse Sonic and Tails in hopes of leading them off course.

Hidden Palace Zone
Dr. Eggman has reached the Hidden Palace and is now looking for the Master Emerald. Barred by dangerous dinosaur robots and dive-bombing bats, Sonic and Tails must be quick to dodge these badniks and get to Eggman before it's too late!

Timeless City Zone
Beyond the Hidden Palace lies the ancient ruins of a forgotten echidna city. This labyrinth of stone and marble serves to only slow Sonic and Tails down. Where has Dr. Eggman gone?

Egg Fortress
Beyond the ruins lies a monstrous fortress. No doubt Dr. Eggman is behind this abomination. Whatever he's up to must lie beyond this wall of security.

Mettrix
Dr. Eggman's newest creation is revealed! Does Sonic have what it takes to stop this powerful weapon?

Guardian Castle Zone
Knuckles discovers that his island has been invaded by Eggrobos!  In the distance he sees three golden guardian robots that block his path. Dodge deadly lasers and navigate through a castle maze to find and defeat each one.

Dust Hill Zone
As Knuckles chases down the leader of this invading army, he is led into the deserts of Angel Island. The blazing heat, sticky quicksand and dangerous flora and fauna will make this chase even more tricky for him.

Bronze Lake Zone
Beyond the desert lies a mysterious oasis filled with life and action.  The dangers Knuckles will find here are NOT what he expected...

Power Source Zone
After Sonic runs off after Eggman, it's up to Knuckles and Tails to take out the rest of his defenses and make sure he doesn't have a backup plan in store.

Music
In this section, you'll be able to listen to music that either is, or was at one point planned to be used in this game.  At this point, the project has had two composers, each creating/having had created a different soundtrack for the game.  The composer's name is listed at the top of each listing.  Musics no longer intended for use with Project Mettrix remain the property of the composer, and are not to be used without his permission

All songs are to be converted to .XM for the final game.  Because the particular soundcard or softsynth used to play these MIDIS can vary in sound, they may not necessarily reflect the sound of the music in-game

The Andre Schroder version was originally converted to .wav for in-game use by Wingroove, an old wavetable synthesizer program.   Newer songs had been converted with Yamaha XG synthesis

Mettrix Engine for Sonic Development
Project Mettrix is built using my own Headcannon Game Engine.  As HCGE is designed for total versatility, all Sonic the Hedgehog aspects of this game are created entirely through scripting.  Much of the core Sonic scripting that makes up this game is available for editing as part of the HCGE Sonic Example Game, and can be used to create other games with unique levels, enemies, powerups, menus, displays, and even other characters and character abilities

E01 Official Addons
Note: These add-ons were created long ago for the old E01 Project Mettrix, and are presented for interest's sake. They are not compatible with HCGE

Below is a list of official addons created by myself or other members of the team. You may download them by clicking on their image. Most of these addons are addon performance tests and tributes to other works, but are likely still enjoyable in one way or another. Any works here based on others are so noted, as are any original works strictly by the staff. Please do not request more works based on SEGA originals than are already listed here. For legal reasons, those requests will be ignored, and any future SEGA-based works will be of my choosing and will be listed ONLY when I feel they are warranted and safe for distribution.

If you would like to create your own levels to use with Project Mettrix, please view the file ReadMeLE.txt and the other editing documentation files, or the editing portion of the Windows help file, which are all included with the game, for instructions on using the level editor and playing external levels. Have fun!

E01 Fan Addons
Note: These add-ons were created long ago for the old E01 Project Mettrix, and are presented for interest's sake. They are not compatible with HCGE

Below is a list of user-created levels that have been sent to me. You may download them by clicking on their image. If you would like to create your own levels to use with Project Mettrix, please view the file ReadMeLE.txt and the other editing documentation files, or the editing portion of the Windows help file, which are all included with the game, for instructions on using the level editor and playing external levels. Have fun!
[Keep in mind that formats change, but I'm doing my best to ensure that older files work with newer versions of the game. Object placement files (.itm) from demo 3.1 and below are not compatible with newer versions because of a large change in the object system, but most future releases shouldn't change so drastically. Level and Tile files (.lev, .til) from any older version are compatible with all newer versions, and should remain so. They are automatically converted to the new format when loaded. All addon files included in the archive are meant for the newest release and will not work with older releases.]
